13,500 metric tons of anti-COVID blood plasma harvested in Russia

13.5 metric tons of blood plasma from people who had coronavirus have been collected.
58 regions are involved in the process of harvesting the anti-COVID plasma, said Veronika Skvortsova, the head of the Federal Medical Biology Agency, at a meeting with the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“Since last April, we have created a methodology for the preparation of anti-COVID plasma. We have established a dedicated center coordinating the preparation of the plasma. Now, 58 regions are participating in this process on the basis of a unified methodology. 86 blood transfusion stations collect the plasma. We have accumulated 13.5 thousand tons, ” she said on the government website.
