Over two million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine already manufactured in Russia

More than 2 million doses of the Sputnik V domestic vaccine against the coronavirus have been produced in Russia. By the end of 2020, more than 1 million doses will go into civil circulation, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

“More than two million doses of Sputnik V have already been produced - that is both the first and the second component. By the end of the current year, more than a million doses will be put into civilian circulation, which allows us to ensure a steady supply to the regions of our country, "RIA Novosti reported.

 “Cumulatively, from the beginning of production to the present [day] we have produced even a little more than originally planned. That happened due to the new technologies that allowed us to scale up,” noted Manturov.

According to him, now all regions are provided with the vaccine and the medications for the treatment of the coronavirus. 

“All regions have several weeks' supplies,” Manturov added. 

Earlier, it was reported that in the beginning of December, Russia announced the start of a large-scale vaccination campaign of the population.
